March 2009. Before the others were up, Michael and I thought it was a good time to go and have a look at the historic part of Liverpool on the other side of Hope Street, around Falkner Square and St Bride Street. Once an impressive red brick and stone Georgian area, it had fallen in stature and become best know for student accommodation and prostitutes. I am sure it is now seen as the Notting Hill of Liverpool and retains an amazing character, with communal gardens, untouched buildings and original cobbled streets. A real film setting. Then it was passed the Liverpool college of Art and the suitcase sculpture on Hope Street and back onto the coach.
