Feb 2011. Landscape Magazine, The Roaming Forest. The Landscape Institutes seasonal magazine arrived on the door mat and delighted to see an article by one of our Kingston course lecturers, Ed Wall. The Roaming Forest: setting public space free. These are a series of installations which individuals can move around the city of Bat-Yam in Israel, with forklifts or by team work. Trees are planted within box containers incorporating seating and started out as informal rest areas at the Timing 2010: The Biennale of Landscape Urbanism in Bat-Yam and has since been moved about the city. These installations allow the community to engage with their landscape, by moving living trees as they require.
