Feb 2011. Plant Identity Board. My study of Landscape Architecture at university has confirmed my personal interest and the importance of plants in the built environment. But one important thing the course has failed to cover are plants and trees. I have therefore tried to educate myself, by recording and researching species and varieties. Walking a dog for 2 hours a day makes this aim fairly realistic. As a simple tool, I carry an A4 MDF board (made in the university workshop), with a self designed scale sheet stuck on the surface. This helps me take accurate photos of buds, leaves and flowers, which I can later identify.
