March 2009. Our tutor, Ed Wall, arranged for the second years to visit a tree nursery and Jason, Enrico and I were able to join them. Jim, Caroline and the whole team at Hillier are one of the most professional I have ever come across and if you want to see fantastic PR in action, go and see them. Tea, coffee, choc, biscuits, crisps and water provided and all area access to their highly respected set up. Lunch on the grass in the sun (in March!).To top it all, they rolled out their £100,000 tree moving machine and showed use how it works. We walked through the fields and were told in very clear detail what each area is used for and about each of the trees. At the end of the day we were then given a test to see how much we could remember, with the winners getting Choc eggs. One of the best field trips.
