Urban Tree Talk. i-Tree, Kenton Rogers, Hi-Line Consultancy.

Feb 2011. If trees are valued, then they might be respected. This is not just financial, but importantly for ecosystem benefits such as, carbon storage, pollution removal and structural value (replacement value). i-Tree was developed by the US Forestry Service as an assessment software, which builds a computer model of the tree survey for an area and allows progress to be monitored. Rogers has been conducting surveys of Torbay’s (UK) urban forest, with a tree population of 818,000 trees, storing 98,000 tonnes of carbon and which remove 50 tonnes of pollutants per year.
