March 2011. The venue moved to London’s Excel exhibition centre, probably so it could fit in a few more solar panel distributors’ stands. I have never seen so many panels being pushed by so much flannel, forgetting the environmental impact of producing, marketing and transporting their products, just to badge them as Eco (Economic Corporate Opportunity). I feel the organisers are either loosing site of their original aim and just taking advantage of the market place. However, there still remains a core, true to the original exhibition ethos and the lectures and conferences make up for the huge sales side.
