March 2011. This is a Woodland Trust initiative to get people to grow their own fire wood, such as ash, wild cherry, oak or birch. Through coppicing, a 2 to 3 hectare site will produce enough fuel for a three bedroom house, saving up to £1,500 of oil cost (at 50p/litre) after 10 years of growth.
