August 2010. After a long and very private illness, my former boss and old friend Robert Spooner died. Robert set up the Story of Christmas, which has now raised over £4 million for London’s homeless and children’s charities. I have been the Vice-Chairman of the organising committee for many years and was one of the few people who actually saw how much work he did to make sure each year’s event was a success.
