October 2010. Michael Hermann arranged for us to visit the Kingston Permaculture site at Knollmead, Tollworth. The plot covers the size is 20 allotments, totalling 50m x 100m. And is on a clay soil, with a lot of natural water, which is one reason why the allotment people did not want it. They looked at where the water was and where the wind came from. Some raised beds made out of willow branches. I tasted Sorrel for the first time and came across Medlar trees. They are very keen to introduce nitrogen fixing plants such as peas and clover.
