October 2009. ‘We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them’ Albert Einstein. Hosted at the VA in London, this was an ambitious project involving many universities, to simultaneously link the discussion in the lecture theatre on improving sustainable practice via the web, so other could participate around the world. Speakers included Richard Hawkin of PIRC, Jody Boehnert of Ecolabs, Andrew Simms of Nef (New Economics Forum), Emma Dewberry at senior lecturer at The Open University, Ben Gill of BioRegional Consulting and the One Planet Programme, Jonathan Crinion of the consultants Crinion Associates, John Thackara of Doors of Perception and Stephanie Hankey and Marek Tuszynski of Tactical Tech. I was pleased to attend, but did not feel discussion and presentations went deep enough to explore new ground. It really underlined what most of us already know.
