September 2009. Society of Garden Designers. Speakers John Wyer, Lisa Delplace (Oehme Van Sweeden, USA), Declan Buckley, Nigel Dunnett and Anthony Paul. A variety of very well presented projects from Landscape Architects to Garden Designers, who really show that you do need to plan for your client, not your ego. Lisa Delplace’s work on the Chicago Botanical Garden and Declan Buckley’s’ work in Ireland were very good examples of gardens of landscape proportions. A really well produced seminar, with student presentations and exhibiting industry suppliers. The food was also delicious and I am proud to be part of the SGD.
